Maginness to represent SDLP at Frank Carson funeral

SDLP North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness will represent the party at the funeral of veteran comedian Frank Carson at St. Patrick’s church tomorrow.

Mr Maginness said: “I am honoured to be able to bring the SDLP’s sympathies to the Carson family at Frank’s funeral.

“Frank Carson was the epitome of the North Belfast boy made good, but he was so much more than that too – a man who transcended cultural and religious divisions to bring laughter to people everywhere for decades.

“I would like to echo the sentiments of our party leader, Dr Alasdair McDonnell when he spoke of Frank’s legacy at the time of his death, and I will be pleased to pass the sympathies of the SDLP on to the family tomorrow, along with the thoughts and prayers of the whole party.”
