Maginness: Discovery of body ‘disturbing’

SDLP North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness has said the discovery of a man’s body in a van on the Shore Road makes for a disturbing start to the New Year for people in the area.

He said: “The discovery of a body in the back of a van on the Shore Road is alarming enough, but it is doubly disturbing to hear that the van was in the area all weekend before the discovery was made.

“We may not know for a time what the circumstances of the man’s death are, but it will doubtless make for an unsettled commencement to 2012 for people in the area.

“Obviously details are scant at the moment, but if anyone has any information, I would urge them to pass it to the police as soon as possible.”
