MAGINNESS CONDEMNS NORTH BELFAST SECURITY ALERT SDLP North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness has condemned those who caused a security alert in Castleton Gardens forcing a number of families from their homes for two hours on Saturday night. He said: “This is a despicable act on the community and one which must be condemned. Police have called it an elaborate hoax and it really does pain me to think why anybody would go to such lengths to cause disruption. This type of behaviour was not acceptable 20 years ago and it’s certainly not acceptable now.
“People have a right to live their lives without constant intimidation and fear that they may be targeted by thugs with no regard for the safety of others.
“I implore
anybody with information to contact the police and help to rid
people of this nature from the streets.”
