MAGINNESS CONDEMNS NORTH BELFAST CARJACKING

SDLP North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness has condemned those responsible for hijacking a car on the Cliftonville Road last night whilst a child was in it. Speaking this morning Mr Maginness stated:

“This must have been a horrific and terrifying experience for the young child and her father. It is hard to imagine the mentality of the people who would order a six-year-old girl out of a car just so they could steal it. The lack of thought for the well being of the child and the possible consequences of their actions is almost too shocking for words. This hijacking took place outside a busy shop on the Cliftonville Road and there must have been a number of eyewitnesses to the crime. It is crucial that anyone who may have any information which could help the police catch these criminals should contact the local PSNI as soon as possible.”
